Magic City Books is proud to partner with Tulsa Community College and the National Endowment for the Humanities for an event with Phil Klay, author of Redeployment.
Redeployment is the 2019 TCC Common Book/Public Good-Reads selection, it has won numerous awards including the 2014 National Book Award and the 2015 Marine Heritage Foundation James Webb Award (awarded for distinguished fiction dealing with U.S. Marines or Marine Corps life).
The goals of the TCC Public Good-Reads program are:
* Deepen critical thinking capacities through common book-related high-impact practices
* Provide a sustained, rich academic experience
* Foster a sense of connection to the institution and to one another
* Improve understanding of civic responsibilities
* Strengthen empathetic capacities
* Raise awareness of the humanities’ civic importance
