Michele Norris – John Hope Franklin Symposium Keynote Speaker

May 30, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Magic City Books is proud to partner with the John Hope Franklin Center for Reconciliation to welcome author, journalist, Emmy & Peabody Award Winner, Michele Norris as the Ninth Annual Reconciliation in America National Symposium Keynote Speaker.

Through exploring her own background to unearth long hidden family secrets that raise questions about her racial legacy and shed new light on America’s complicated racial history, author Michele Norris promises a lively, interactive, and inspirational address regarding the DNA of Reconciliation: the Substance of Peacemaking as she shares her life experience as detailed in her first book, The Grace of Silence.

In 2011, Ms. Norris created The Race Card Project, a narrative exercise that invites people to share their experiences and perspectives around race and identity. The project has archived tens of thousands of stories from all 50 states and more than 60 countries and is now used in hundreds of schools, colleges and communities as a forum for sparking productive dialogue.

For more information about the Symposium, please visit https://www.jhfcenter.org/national-symposium. The Keynote Address is free and open to the public. Ms. Norris will be available to sign copies of her book after her presentation.
